We\u2019ve been telling people about how nice it is to visit Galway for years, but this isn\u2019t the first time our city has been recognised as a great place to visit \u2013 <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=dDyHyh4sZh4\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Lonely Planet also named Galway<\/a><\/strong> in their top ten best cities in the world to visit in 2020!<\/p>\n<p>Galway is a small, vibrant university city on the west coast of Ireland and it has been welcoming visitors for centuries. It is a great place to be in summertime when thousands of visitors come to experience the medieval port city and to use it as a touring base to explore the amazing limestone landscapes of the Burren, to the south, and the rugged beauty of Connemara, to the west. The city hosts several important summer festivals, including the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.galwayfilmfleadh.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Galway Film Festival<\/strong><\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.giaf.ie\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Galway International Arts Festival<\/strong><\/a> and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.galwayraces.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Galway Races<\/strong><\/a>, was named as an official European City of Culture for 2020.
