Boats, flags and people at Seafest, Galway

We were delighted to see that Galway was recently named as the friendliest city in Europe in the Condé Nast Traveller Readers’ Choice Awards 2020! We’ve been telling people about how nice it is to visit Galway for years, but this isn’t the first time our city has been recognised as a great place to visit – Lonely Planet also named Galway in their top ten best cities in the world to visit in 2020!

Galway is a small, vibrant university city on the west coast of Ireland and it has been welcoming visitors for centuries. It is a great place to be in summertime when thousands of visitors come to experience the medieval port city and to use it as a touring base to explore the amazing limestone landscapes of the Burren, to the south, and the rugged beauty of Connemara, to the west. The city hosts several important summer festivals, including the Galway Film Festival, Galway International Arts Festival and the Galway Races, was named as an official European City of Culture for 2020. Why not include a stay in Galway in your post-COVID travel plans!
